So my mom left yesterday to go home to take care of her two "baby boys..." my dad and 20-year-old brother. Since she left mid-morning, today was the first day Jack and I didn't have Nana's help at all. Fortunately, Daddy's schedule was a little less demanding this morning and since he had a chance to catch up on a little bit of sleep last night, he was able to give Mommy a break this morning so she could take a shower.
When I got out of the shower I got back in my bed with Jack. He had just finished a bottle and since he was up a good chunk of the night last night he was pretty sleepy now. Once I got him to sleep, I fell asleep too (I know, I know, you're not supposed to sleep with them in the same bed). Miraculously, we slept for almost 3 hours!!! It was the most peaceful rest we've gotten together since he's been here. We both woke up refreshed and ready for the day.
Of course, Jack was then up for another 3 hours playing and staring at me and making cute noises. Then, I gave him a monkey bath (come on umbilical stump...fall off!!!) and decided we needed to get out of the house. So, we took our first trip sans chaperone in the car. Jack slept the ENTIRE time we were gone. We went to the bank and then to Daddy's office and didn't get back for about 2 hours. He then slept two more hours, woke up to eat, pooped (a big deal around here since he doesn't go very often), went back to sleep, woke up briefly, and is now asleep again. I have to admit that I am a little worried that he will be up all night, but oh well. At least he made my day great!
I'm anxious for Thursday when we both have dr. appointments. Hopefully I will be cleared to start walking with him in the stroller (I'm pretty sure things are healing up just fine for me) and that he will check out well and maybe we can go visit my school friends. If you haven't been by to see him, stop by! We would LOVE the company!

I would love to see him!
co-sleep with him whenever you want! i think that is what helped kinley learn her "very good, sleep through the night-plus some" sleep pattern. (and she's the best napper at daycare!) =) but then again...it could also be her mom and emmie's sleep genes, lol.
Niki, come whenever you want. We live one street over from Erin Stutts. Just call me (832-443-3709).
Erin, how did you keep from rolling over on Kinley or losing her in the sheets? We took another nap this morning but I wasn't as sure about this one. Any tricks? I still don't think I could make it an all night thing, but for naps, it might be nice.
at first we had a thing that she was in that goes on top of the bed (i forgot what it was called). it was kind of like a mat with short walls around it. i'll bring it next weekend if you want to try it at nap time. it even had a night light built in but we never used that part.
